The category of heavy duty vehicles covers a wide range of road, construction and agricultural machinery and vehicles, which are characterised by their high resistance to harsh working conditions. Therefore, due to the nature of their work, the products used in heavy duty machinery and vehicles must withstand adverse atmospheric conditions, such as changing temperatures, from very low to very high, UV radiation and other external factors such as vibrations and mechanical impacts. Resistance to the effects of aggressive chemicals is also important, in particular to petroleum products such as fuels, greases and oils. Our product range for heavy duty vehicles includes a wide selection of speciality chemicals and innovative cable management systems.
Recommended products for heavy duty vehicles
Heavy-duty lubricants
Our range dedicated to heavy duty machinery and vehicles consists of universal and specialised oils and lubricants from the ROCOL brand, as well as anti-corrosion agents for all metals exposed to adverse working conditions. ROCOL is the undisputed leader in heavy-duty lubricants. The range includes lubricants for wire ropes and open gears, bearing greases and hydraulic and gear oils, among others.
Anti-seize pastes
Anti-seize pastes are among the most popular products used in machinery and vehicles, especially heavy-duty ones. They prevent the seizing of bolted joints and allow them to be disassembled freely. Anti-seize pastes facilitate assembly work by moistening surfaces and reducing friction forces. In addition to ROCOL anti-seize pastes, we also offer Varybond products.
Stainless steel cable ties
Products used in the construction of heavy duty vehicles and machinery must be resistant to changing and adverse weather conditions and have high mechanical strength. In our shop, among other things, we offer stainless steel cable ties with fold locking of HellermannTyton's AMT series, ideally suited for use in extremely harsh environments. They are made from acid-resistant type 316 stainless steel and are characterised by their high corrosion resistance and operating temperature range, making them ideal for use in heavy duty machinery on construction, road and agricultural vehicles. They are resistant to vibration thanks to the folding mechanism, which ensures that the ties are tightly and firmly fastened, even in areas subject to high vibration. The cable ties are suitable for very high loads (up to 2,500 N), making them also widely used in the railway and construction industries.
Thread locking adhesives
In heavy duty machinery and vehicles, one of the issues to be addressed is the effect of continuous vibration on components and joints. Therefore, anaerobic thread locking adhesives are used to prevent bolted joints from loosening under vibration. Anaerobic adhesives offer both different viscosities and bond strengths. Versions with high bond strength are used for fitting bearings into housings or onto shafts, as well as for non-removable bonding of bolts.
Ratchet P-Clamps
A popular element for fixing heavy cables, wires and hoses are P-type clamps, made of steel, optionally equipped with a rubber insert. The disadvantage of this clamp is that it is usually difficult to install and remove with the item being clamped. The Ratchet P Clamp does not have this disadvantage, as it has a similar mechanism to the cable tie, which makes the installation and removal of the clamped component easy and does not require the removal of the entire clamp. In addition, the ratchet allows exact adjustment to the diameter of the component being clamped.
KR-series not serrated cable ties
Cable ties of the KR series have a special locking mechanism in the form of a pin, which is pressed into the strap of the tie. This means that the strap of the tie does not have serrations as in classic cable ties, making it safer for the electrical cables to be bundled. In addition, the cable tie is 1.5 times more tensile resistant and fits much better on round components. For this reason, it is popularly used as a lightweight and non-corrosive fixing tie for rubber bellows in the automotive industry.
Cable tie mounts for edges Beam Clamp
Heavy duty machinery and vehicles, due to their heavy loads, are made of thick steel components that are very difficult to drill. It is therefore a major challenge to fix cables, lines or hydraulic lines to them. Special fastening elements such as Beam Clamps, which use the available edges, come to the rescue. The clamp itself is fixed onto a beam with an integrated wedge, while cables, for example, are attached using classic cable ties.
Identification tags
One of the issues that arise in heavy-duty machinery and vehicles that use power hydraulics is the marking of flexible hydraulic hoses. Such markings, in addition to their mechanical strength and resistance to external factors such as contact with fuel and oils, or UV radiation, must also ensure that the information applied is legible and resistant to these factors. One solution is markers with tattoo-like permanency, where the dye, once printed, penetrates the structure of the marker material.
Self-laminating labels
Another solution for the permanent and legible marking of flexible hydraulic hoses is the use of self-laminating labels. Such labels consist of a non-transparent field, on which the marking is applied using the thermal transfer method, and a transparent laminate. By wrapping such a label around a circular element of the appropriate diameter, e.g. a hydraulic hose, the label's marking field is secured with its transparent end. Special self-laminating labels with increased thickness have been developed for applications in heavy duty vehicles and machinery.
