Viton® heat shrink tubing
For the insulation and protection of electric cables in the pharmaceutical industry, we recommend the Viton®-E series of heat shrinkable tubing from HellermannTyton. They are characterised by very high resistance to aggressive chemicals such as greases, oils and fuels and extreme temperatures from -55°C to +220°C. This makes them ideal for use in sterile manufacturing environments where very good electrical, chemical and mechanical properties are important. Made from fluoroelastomer, Viton® thin-walled heat shrink tubing is highly flexible, even after shrinkage and at low temperatures.
MBT-series stainless steel cable ties
Designed for applications requiring high holding force as well as flame and chemical resistance, HellermannTyton's MBT series of cable ties are a guarantee of reliable, permanent fixing in the pharmaceutical industry. The ties are distinguished by their high resistance to aggressive chemicals, flame and extreme temperatures, making them ideal for the quick bundling and fixing of cables and wiring harnesses in demanding environments. The ball-lock allows the cable tie to be locked in place anywhere along its length, while effectively preventing accidental opening. Made from stainless steel (304) or acid-resistant stainless steel (316), the ties are detectable by metal detectors. They are also available in a plastic-coated version, which provides additional protection against corrosion.
Silicone adhesive ELASTOSIL E43
Another product worth recommending is ELASTOSIL E43 adhesive from the well-known manufacturer Wacker. It is a one-component acetoxy-cure silicone rubber (RTV-1), which is typically used for silicone gaskets in almost every industry, including pharmaceuticals. The adhesive has the consistency of a thick, self-levelling compound, which makes application much easier. It is characterised by excellent adhesion to many materials, without the need for primers. The silicone rubber cures at room temperature under the influence of atmospheric moisture to form an elastic bond with very good mechanical properties.
Thread locking compound Varybond 12-42
Equipment made from acid-resistant steel is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. We offer thread-locking adhesives and pipe thread sealants designed specifically for stainless steel. The medium-strength, medium-viscosity anaerobic adhesive Varybond 12-42 has excellent gap-filling properties. The adhesive cures quickly, even on passivated surfaces. It is characterised by its high chemical resistance and excellent thermal stability, and is ideal for securing stainless and galvanised threads. The product is NSF and DVGW approved, guaranteeing high-quality protection, effectively preventing screws and threads from loosening, especially on components subject to vibration.
